Who we are

We’re Crystal Forest Ceramics — a small, owner-run studio in Crystal Park, Benoni making painted and unpainted ceramics for individuals, cafés/restaurants, and kids’ parties. We keep things simple: message us first, we confirm availability, lead time, and price, then you collect in Benoni or we courier (packing/courier fees quoted when ready).

Our story (no fairy dust, just work)

1990s–2019 — The Paint Chix: Little shop at Chameleon Village (Hartbeespoort Dam), sourcing ceramics from outside makers.
2020 — Pause: We closed that chapter.
2021 — Rebuild: New venture, this time producing our own items from rental premises.
Today — Home base: We operate from our own property in Benoni, running three kilns and a mould library of ~1,200. If we don’t have your exact mould, we’ll try source it through friends.

What we make (and for whom)

Individuals & hobbyists — painted pieces (ready now) and unpainted bisque (made to order) for paint-at-home.
Cafés & restaurants — mugs, plates, décor, and consistent batches that can be reordered without weird color shifts.
Kids’ parties & group events — paint-your-own sessions/kits with simple shapes and realistic firing timelines.

How ordering works (contact-first)

Tell us what you want — item(s) + quantity + whether it’s Individual or Business (pricing differs).

We confirm — availability, lead time, and delivery/collection.
We make or pull stock — painted = in stock now; unpainted = made to order.
Collect or courier — Benoni by appointment, or we ship; packing & courier fees quoted when the order’s ready.

For venues & bulk buyers

We plan for reality: menu changes, breakage, top-ups. We’ll match forms and glazes across batches, recommend stackable shapes, and keep a record so reorders stay consistent. Send your target quantity and timeline; we’ll quote business rates and confirm packing/courier once ready.

Parties & paint-at-home kits

We’ll size items for kids, suggest crowd-pleasers, and map out firing/collection dates so your party doesn’t panic on the day. Brushes/paints optionally included.

At Crystal Forest Ceramics, we run our studio on a by-appointment basis. This way, we can give you our full attention — whether you’re popping in for a quick pickup, looking through our shelves of painted ceramics, or chatting about bulk orders for your business or next event.

Do you keep everything in stock?

Painted items are normally ready to go. Unpainted (bisque) items are made to order, so please allow time for production and firing.

How long does it take to get unpainted items ready?

It depends on the size of your order and kiln cycles, but we’ll always confirm a realistic timeline when you place your request.

What’s the difference between individual and business pricing?

For individuals, we quote per piece. For businesses or bulk buyers, we offer adjusted pricing depending on quantities. Let us know what you’re ordering for so we can send the right quote.
